The Human Series
In Higham's Human Series, she explores the human body in ways we don’t normally see. Using hand held microscopic camera’s, she is able to transport the audience into a world of discomfort and discovery. Through her visceral exploration of the body, Higham questions ones physical reality and investigates how film can take you on a journey into someone else’s anatomy.
How do we generally view the body and its components? Higham attempts to answer this and aims to generate more questions surrounding our realities and our beings. This is further reinforced by her use of sound, and more recently her own written pieces of music. She believes music is a vital part of film as it is able to transform a film into an experience; it can play with the viewers senses and emotions.
